I'm gonna use this thread to document some work that I've been doing this Spring.....

Here's a boat I've worked on every Spring for the last 3 years. I just finished up tonight adding the following: Syn2 for the existing XS-10FA's, Syn4 for the 4 pair of XS-650's, added the 4th pair of 650's, and swapped out a couple speakers that were blown. I didn't have the stereo drunk tuned last year, so there were casualties. The hole in the back is from where I had to remove a grab handle to cut-in a new speaker, at the customers request. LOUD is all I can say. It also has the following:
1000W Digital Designs amp
DD3512 1000W sub, in a ported enclosure in the cabin.
Stinger SP1700 battery
Stinger SPG35 battery isolator
Stinger SBC6A on-board maintainer
Clarion Marine head unit
Clarion Marine aux. input

Here's another one I've been working on...

2009 Hustler 39' Rockit
The owner is local, and a good friend. Yes, it's this exact boat, and he's in the boat on the cover.

The boat came with this:
Sony head unit, helm remote (all in the galley)
Kicker ZX700.5 hidden away in the gunwhale
2 sets of JL Audio M770 components
1 JL Audio IB10 woofer

I'm adding:
(3) XS-10FA's under the rear bench
Syn1 for subs
Syn4 for the components
Adding another set of JL Audio components
Stinger SPP2150 battery
Stinger SBC6A on-board maintainer

All will be tucked in the gunwhale and to make an adjustment or change a fuse, the whole cabin door/step to the deck will have to be disassembled.

Pics coming soon.

Looks good. I bet that Baja screams! I would think there are many hotties dancing in or on that boat on any given weekend. ;-)

Here are pics of a Malibu that came in for a re-wire job, install a Stinger SPP1500D battery, SBC6A charger, and to add a WS-420. These are before and afters:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d19/jonyb1/Installz/DSC_8490.jpg

The Syn2 was behind the drivers seat, wires were going across the bow storage area, wires were hanging down under the helm, batteries were spread out, there was no storage space at all. he gained a little more but because of the sub box, not much.

Not much to see here, but this is the hole I've been crawling in and out of in the 39' Hustler Rockit:

I've still got 7 holes to cut for the extra set of JL components and 3 XS-10FA speakers under the rear bench. Next trip over there will be the last and I'll have some completed pics.

I love to see your work. Nice installs, keep pics coming. What batteries do you recomend for my boat. I have a 140 amp alternator. I also have a MTX 601D, a memphis 400.2, eclipse (55x4 plus 280x1). I have four tower lites and everything else is basically standard.

Thanks man... 1 Stinger SPP1500D or a 2150 would do the trick and give you plenty of reserve time. Yes, 1 battery.

I quit taking Aleve since that supposedly eats up your stomach. They've had me on Flexeril and a few other things, but I'm not a junkie, so I stay drug-free (prescription drugs too). But to tell you how my back feels, I'm going in for back surgery on May 18th. That's the first surgery anyway, the second one will be 2 weeks later....

Thanks for the compliments guys.

More work...

Here's a 39' Hustler Rockit that I finished up this week. Added a Syn1, Syn4, (3) XS-10FA's, an extra set of JL Audio M770 components (it already had 2 sets), a Stinger SP2150 battery, SPG32 battery isolator, and SBC6A on-board charger.

I work on a swing shift at an industrial facility. 12 hour shifts that average about 14-15 days of the month. In my off time I own a car/marine audio/security business and do these installs out of my shop. The Hustler stayed in it's own shop because it was just easier that way. My shop could have accomodated it, but with 3 boats in there now, it was just easier that way.

Another boat I just finished up. This boat came in from Indianapolis, IN (8.5 hours away), about 6 months ago. It ended up getting put off through the Winter but stayed in the shop the whole time. I started working on it in January but ran into a problem. The boat originally had an Evolution tower, but water had gotten into the tower tubes, froze, expanded the metal, and ruined the tower. It took the customer this long to get a new tower for it. He originally went to Samson, but was unhappy with the communication from them and the delay on getting the tower completed. An overall bad experience, so he ended up taking it back to Centurion in North Carolina to have a Gladiator tower installed. I removed the old tower, then had a local body shop fill all the holes on the deck and fix the gelcoat. When they were done, he picked up the boat, pulled it 14 hours to Centurion, then flew home. A week later flew back to Centurion, the pulled the boat back to me. I finished it up this afternoon and he picks it up tomorrow.

Damn. I'm jealous. I'm for sure in the rats nest department with my setup. Got a guy coming to help me soon with it. Going to try and get 2 Kicker 15s under my driver console. I know the 12s will fit but he seems to think he can design a box with enough air for 15s.....

Looks like the two rear wetsounds speakers block some of the sounds of the front speakers on the tower. Rip whole system out and start over, geez. Just joking, awesome install. Must feel good to do that kind of work. How do you get these customers?

haha, not a chance...

Thanks for the compliments guys. How do I get them? I just try to offer top notch service to everyone whether its a $100 cd player or a $10,000 stereo. The Centurion owner found out about me through his brother, whom I did an install for last year. He's from Evansville, IN, about 2 hours away. Also it helps to be a dealer for a few brands because when a potential customer emails or calls a manufacturer to find a local dealer, the manufacturer recommends the most local dealer. Another thing about that is that when you do a job for these guys and they're pleased with the work, they'll mention your name and that in turn will be another customer. My shop is private and has no storefront, we also don't do any type of advertising, but most people in our town know or find out what we do, so that keeps us busy.

Regardless of anything, customer service is the number one priority. That's why I was so harsh on SC and my dealer in the past on this forum, as some of you may remember. Since I offer customer service for my work and products, I expect it in return.

Yeah. I'm sure with the sound systems I have seen from him.. People in his neck of the woods have "heard" (of) him.

And like you said, I am sure they go to shows, get attention, what not and that is the best references I think you could get. (word of mouth and free).

Thanks again guys! Scottie, nothing yet. I fixed the short in one of the cans tonight and set the box in. I can have it ready pretty soon but Jason won't be back for a while so I've taken it easy lately. I look to have his done tomorrow and maybe some pics over teh weekend.

Everyone's projects look great. There has been a lot of talk about stereos and head units. I got this Sony 905 off Ebay for $125. It has a pin adapter for an iPod so all the music is controlled through the stereo.
