Finally got the gas shock installed on the ice chest. Its all done..sundeck, ice chest, fatsac holder, led's, gas shock. Jet

Oh yeah, did you notice it opens in the opposite direction? Self taught engineering baby!!

Are shocks pretty sturdy? I've seen these flaps fly open on other boats from wind drag when facing this direction, but a decent set of shocks should take care of that problem. I might just have to stop by and check that out some day.

What lb rating is your shock? I got one for mine rated at 40 lbs. It was so stiff it wouldnt work. Unless I just didnt put it in a correct angle/distance.

Dude, that top weighs like 30 lbs. But Its never come up without the shock on it i 3 years. Not sure what the rating is on this shock but I colapsed it and it frlt like a 20 lbs.
