Oil presure warning light

Is this normal? I have a 05 22ssv. When sitting idle the oil presure warning light comes on. The presure is right around 40. Once you start going the light goes off but once you go back to idle the light come right back on.

The light should read underneath it that it's supposed to behave exactly like that. It says something to the effect of, "Light Should Not Remain On Over [###] RPM]" or "Light Remains On Below [###] RPM]"

My boat has had a low idle/low oil pressure siren for years. Just keep an eye on the oil pressure and check with the dealer that Its within the correct pressure and you will just have to live with it like I do. lol

Should be normal. Mine says it should go off above 1200 RPM

i believe you are talking about your vdrive oil pressure light below the throttle. it is normal for it to come on below 1200 rpms
