im guessing the 4200 will be for just around the whole boat where the rub rail is, Do you guys think one tube will do it? The tubes are the size that go into a caulking gun

And as far as 5200, Im doing the exhaust - swim platform - the cavitation plate - fin bolts - So should I just order a full tube or just the 3 oz tube?

Cheapest I found for a tube is $22.99 @ overtons

I was wondering the same as I'm getting around to ordering mine. Just as a point of reference, I got the 3 oz 5200 and used the whole thing just on my strut. I'm getting a caulk tube size to try to finish everything else.

What did y'all use on the rub rail? Did you go with black? I noticed 4200 doesn't come in clear.

FYI: 10 oz 5200(white) is on sale for $11.99 at West Marine.
We used regular marine silicone(clear, $14.99) for around the rub rail since it was a little cheaper than 4200. I think it works good enough for that application. And I agree with needing to buy 2 tubes of it.

Remember 3M 4200 and 5200 are not UV stable and are not to be exposed to sunlight. 3M 4000 Is UV stable and is also good for under water use. Also, two different types of 5200, Regular and Fast set. The Regular takes 7 days to set up, Fast Set is fully cured in 24hrs. 3M 4000 is also a full cure in 24hrs. Al
