The light for low oil pressure is on right beside the bilge pump toggle switches. It stays on no matter how many rpms the engine is running. The oil pressure gauge is fine and normal so what oil pressure is the light actually measuring and how do you check it? If it is low how much oil should I put in it and what type is everyone using? Also would it hurt to run the boat if this light was on because I ran it for about 2 hours one day while it was on and everything seemed fine. I have a 2005 supra sunsport 24'.

Docdrs thanks for the site to the manual. I checked the oil level and it was fine, filled the the high mark. The shop I bought it from stated that they fully serviced the boat before my puchase so they may have already replaced the fluid, however I am aware that different shops have different standards of servicing a boat. I would of thought with a full inspection and service of a boat they would have caught two missing bolts on the water pump which is causing it to leak and a bad altenator. With that being said the oil look good in color, (light golden brown), and not dark in color and also filled to the high mark which suggest to me that it could possibly be new oil. With that being said why would that light stay on even over 1200 rpms?
