JT from Nettleprops.com has agreed to do a group buy for the skiers choice moomba/supra forum members. This will include acme and oj props and also pullers. He has asked that we keep this to the moomba and supra forums and not spread it over the internet. If you are interested in buying a prop you can pm me for the promo code or contact JT at nettleprops.com (800-517-7707) and he will be happy to assist you. Im sure most of you will want to wait on the feedback from the moomba group prop testing being done this weekend. JT has decided to run this group buy until the end of may.

Sounds Great! What are the suggestions as which prop to use?

If you talk to him, he will tell you what is the best for the boat you have. I emailed him and got the price for the I would buy for my boat which is the ACME 1433 and its pretty good. I really wasn't planning on getting one right now, but I might not be able to pass this one up. I have to pay 500 bucks to my insurance to get the boat fixed too :-(

a prop test is being done on the moomba site and the results should be up in a day or so. you may be able to compare something you have to other props.

How much better can it get than the OJ 14.25 x 14? I have 150 hours on that prop and it has been rock solid, and pulls out of the holeshot with no problems. I will probably go with this prop because I know I will have no clearance or fitting problems.

Thanks for the information I will be contacting him as well, I like the kit that Ski Dim has that holds the prop and tools, hopefully he has something similiar.

The original OJ 14.25 X 14 and the new 14.25 X 14.5 FUSION props work very well. The larger diameter, as opposed to the 14 X 14.25, should provide better low end. The size of the prop we provide to SUPRA for the boat that pulls the Worlds is a 14.75 X 13.

Eric,
I still have not had a chance to try out the new Fusion prop. I want to compare it to my stock prop. I went out for this first time this year and the packing nut was leaking bad so I have new packing ordered and will hopefully get it all squared away for next week. However the more I look at my current amt of clearance, I wondering how the fusion could possibly fit. Seems like I only have 1/2 inch clearance now and I will be adding 3/4 inch with this new prop. Any suggestions or a way around this?

Replace the packing with the dripless system.

Clearance to the hull or trailer??

Like I said, we run the 14.75" diameter props with no hull clearance issues.

I've already ordered the GFO packing. I'd just seen a lot of write-ups on this one and the techniques used to install it. I'm not too mechanically inclined so I need all the pics, tips and illustrations I can get.

The clearance issue will be with the trailer, not the hull. I'll measure and get some pics up of what I'm seeing and going to be dealing with.

You are thinking of prop Radius. The diameter would mean you are only adding half of that .75" to each side of the prop

Ahhh, you are right again Mikey:oops:. I think it will still be a tight fit...too tight I'm worried. It just seems like everyone else has more clearance to begin with...what gives:confused:

Float the boat and raise the bunks if it looks to be too close.

I took a few pics today...of my clearance issues. In attempt not to threadjack, I started a new thread about how to raise the trailer bunks. Check it out and give me some advice.

Thanks.

I just got back from Nettle props. Started out dropping off my old one for repair and ended up buying a new 13X12 ACME which JT recomended for my boat. Is anyone else currently running this?
Nettle Props is a great company to do business with and the group wasn't bad either..

Ben what do you do behind your boat? I have a 13x12 and it is great for boarding up to 1000lbs and works fine for slalom too with top speed about 40-42. However for serious boarding and surfing with 1500lbs+ weight I would highly recommend the 13x10.5 arm ripper.

We do some wakeboarding and I'll say it quietly(Tubes). The speed should work out well for the tubing anyway. My old prop was a 13X13 probably the original looked like it had been repaired several times and was a little dinged up but it really jumped out of the water with it so I'm sure this will be a big improvement. I will certainly let you know how it works out, looking at going to the lake Memorial weekend.

Yep my stock is a 13x13, also came with a 13x12, then bought the Acme 13x10.5 from Nettles. Sounds like it will work out well for you. They do offer a 13x11 as well for more power.

What do your RPM look like with the 13x10.5 at WOT? I was worried about RPM's with the 13X12 but it looks like I'll be ok. At the end of last summer I found a good deal on a 13.5X17.5 four blade. I put it on and ran it for 30 Min, it was like running a car in third gear. I guess I'll be putting it up for sale now that I know (Cheap). I was going off of experience with my other boat Merc inboard outboard and the 17 pitch was the prop of choice for pulling.

the four blade is recommended for those that have a 14" diam prop and a 1:1.23 trans. For the 13x10.5 3 blade rpms4200, 38mph. Try ski-it-again.com to sell the other

Ben
What was your top end with that 17.5 pitch prop? Just curious if it made it run really fast.

The engine would bog down before I could even get on plan when I tried it. Since then I've converted from the points to electronic Distributor so I might try it again just to see if any changes.
