New Wake Plate Gauge

So I'm in the process of installing a new gauge..take out the old one install the new one right. Nope! Ok its to my understanding you have a ground, a flat ground for the light, a S wire for signal to ignition and a power wire. Well i hooked mine up the same as the old one and it does not work. Just fish'n to see if anyone else out there knew a simple fix..? (my wires are hard to seen in that factory tubing)

Mine is broken as well on my 2002 Launch SSV.
I would like to replace it, so I guess I'm bumping this thread to see if anyone has any input for you so I can perhaps dup what you have done to get your fixed.
