I'm looking at purchasing an SSV because it is rumored to handle rougher water quite well. I have to cross Lake St. Clair, MI to get to the goods and the lake crossing will frequently have waves in the 2-5ft range from boat traffic. Currently I'm using a direct drive Air Nautique at slower speeds and it is a little to rough for my wife and kids. If any body has some experience in these kind of conditions your comments will be appreciated.

The boat will do great. Just make sure you get the mechanical trim tab and you'll have the smoothest ride ever. I just bought my Supra and the trim tab was the major seller. It rides great (better than most) without it - and excellent with the mech. trim tab.

This was my main concern as well - not bouncing my "better-half" around in the boat! ;)
