I am looking at an '06 24 SSV with a 325 HP engine. Is this engine adequate enough for a beginning wakeboard enthusiast?

I have another '06 similar boat purchase option with a 450 HP engine, but it is about $7500 more.

I have a 06 24ssv the 325 hp motor does fine and it does even better with the wakeboard prop. even with 12 people and full ballast it still gets up on plane fine. Do wish I had the 340 hp motor or the 450 yes. But for the price I couldn't pass it up.

FYI, anything pre-'08 had problems with vapor locking, in '08 they added a second fuel pump to alleviate this problem. Just something to keep in mind.

There have been some with all kinds of problems, and others with none. Maybe fuel blend also has something to with it????

I would think location and how much it is ran at a time as well. I doubt NC gets as hot as Arizona. Come on global warming. Head northeast...

$7500 is a lot given everything else being equal. I agree with JONBLARC7, my 325 does the job with the right prop, but would of course would prefer a little more hp.

On the vapor lock....mine has done it twice, a little cold water on the fuel pump works great.
