The carpet in the storage area behind my passenger seat was crappy, tried cleaning but was no use. Pulled it out and would either re-carpeting OR Line with a better water resistant mat OR using a coating of some sort- maybe truck bed liner (roll-on or spray) or something similar?

Has anyone done something like this, or have an idea of what to use???

I've been turning this into a cooler for the last few evenings. I remember that someone on here converted the ski locker into a cooler and they put in an awesome looking grey bed liner that looked really trick.

So far I've stripped out the carpet, sanded down the remaining adhesive, fixed the cracks/holes, lined it with 1" exterior grade foam insulation, fiberglass resin+matt+resin+matt. I think all I need to do still is install a drain (probably 2) and spray-in bedliner it. I've only used the spray stuff before... Anyone used the roll-on?

spray-in bedliner -> Spray Cans like the stuff at Fleet Farm? OR Rhino / Line-X coatings?
The latter is WAY more $$...:(

I'm also going to be looking for a lighter color, like white... so it's easier to see stuff in there...

I just used this on my entire swim platform and very happy with the results. Easy to apply and seems very durable, multiple colors are also available, all for around $100 total.

Wotan, its was me. My link is down below. I actually used garage floor epoxy $39 bucks at the big orange box. It looks great and looks clean. I wouldnt use bedliner stuff, Its real ruff and will scratch stuff thats in there for storage. Jet

No..It has a picture of a tire parked on the pretty garage floor. Really doesnt matter, who ever is cheapest. Be ready, have your boat taped up and ALL compartments ready to go..once you drop in the epoxy you have like 1-hr to do everything until it starts to get hard. Be ready!!

Jet -- This is exactly what I'm tempted to do. Have you had any issues with cracking? Does it seem to flex a little? It adheres to the walls/vertical surfaces without much problem?

Hahah.... I've got one ready to go under my rear seat but a cooler is in bigger demand right now. I have no idea how many bags of ice we went through last year but we spent waaaay more time drinking beer than we did wakeboarding. 90% of my watersports time now is surfing.
