Last year for 454? Couple of 351 and 350 engine questions too...

I haven't seen any Supra newer than about 1988 that has a 454 in it, anyone know when the last year was that they were used? Also, when did PCM start using that coil pack ignition for the carb'd 351's, and was it used on the later EFI ones also? Are they full of problems, I've heard you can't buy new coilpacks?? When did Supra start using Chevy based 350's, and stop using 351's, was there ever a choice? The years I'm interested in the most are 92-99, and all I've seen are 351's in a couple of different forms. Thanks

I have a 97' Sunsport with PCM 351 (GT-40 fuel injected).

My 1988 Comp came with the Chevy 350. The boat was purchased new by a close friend of mine and I think he had to special order it to get the Chevy engine. This engine has a Holy Carb, Mallory ignition, standard coil.

In 89 when I bought my Sunsport the 350 engine was a special order option. I worked for GM at the time and almost ordered it. The reason I didn't is I didnt want to have a one in a million boat that nobody stocks parts for since 99.9 % of all inboard ski boats had the 351 Ford in them.

As for the coil on the 351, from my understanding you can't buy just the coil anymore. You have to get a full conversion kit, and SKIDIM carries it.
