I left my key on for a few hours. When I went to start it I had to use the throttle (haent had to do this this year). Took the kids skiing and it stalled. It wouldnt stay running at idle and when I put it in gear it would stall. Could this be the condenser or points??

It is mostly likely the coil. Is it an older 351 or 454? Those motors had coils (Round canister type) :cool:that would go hot if the key was on and sometimes would burn out. I would also check the points to make sure they haven't arc welded themselves together!

Good luck

If you still have Points and condensor, replace with electronic conversion, this along with an internal resistor coil. Any tune up we do now, we replace with electronic ignition. Points had their day long time ago. Much better running condition. Al

Its a 351. I just installed electronic ignition. Now it wont start. I thought by leaving the key on it burned up the condenser. You say the coil?
