I have been looking at old supras and need advice. I've seen quite a few ts6m's around 5k cad, and the only sunsports I can find are usually in the 9-10k range.

As far as wakeboard use, how much of a difference is there between these two models?

Welcome to the forums! They is a HUUUUUGE difference. The Comp sits super low to the water and I would only recommend it to hard-core slalom-only skiers.

The SunSports are a much deeper boat, giving you the ability to pull lots of ballast. Also much more stable and comfortable in waves. If you can get a good SunSport with no floor for $8k that is a steal.

What about a Mariah?

Mariahs are kind of in-between. I'm not a Mariah expert, but I believe they have somewhat higher freeboard than a comp, but they don't have quite the deep-vee of the SunSport. Search the forum for Mariah and you should come up with lots of hits.

Basically we recommend the SunSport or the Saltare which is the 24' version if you want to board or surf.

Also a Maurauder is a closed bow SunSport.

Youll be happy with a sunsport. Happier with a Saltare if you want real big but Sunsport will work great.
