$8600 for that? They're smoking some serious stuff out west.

If the seats are that bad, I guarantee you that boat has a list of problems or spots that will need some serious attention. I wouldn't give over 5500 for that thing.

5500 seems high. I wouldnt give more than 2500.

Hey Guys, I just joined the site. I am a very active member over at wakeworld and joined this forum on the suggestion of wakemikey. I actually got some pics of that 1992 and am thinking about going and looking at it.

The boat needs some work there is no doubt about that. Luckily being in the automotive, heavy duty, marine and industrial parts business I have access to a lot of the parts for less than most people. I will post some pics the seller sent me and you guys can let me know what you think. The boat needs at the very minimum the 3 rear seat cushions redone and the rear hatch. Probably the observer's seat bottom cushion as well. The boat needs all the small gauges replaced. I am a warehouse distributor for Stewart Warner, Datcon and VDO so I am pretty confident I can find a set that will work. The gelcoat is pretty dang faded and needs a good wetsand. I am going to have to go look at the boat to see if it is just faded or if it also has lots of dings and gouges. I don't mind wetsanding but gouges through the gelcoat are a different story.

It also needs some other minor fixes. The hot tube for the heater needs to be replaced it looks like. It is missing the door/hatch on the drivers side walkthrough. The trailer probably needs new bearings, races, seals and brakes. Again, I have access to all that stuff except the walkthrough door. The cover also needs a few patches.

The boat has high hours. Around 1100 or so. I called the dealer he services the boat at(Bake's) and they have been doing work for quite a few years. He has it winterized and winterized every year. They change the oil when they do that. The only thing out of the ordinary is that they replaced the heater core a couple years ago and that is no big deal. They said the boat actually runs pretty good.

The owner said that he was told it is running a little rich and needs a tuneup. I sell pertronix, prestolite and bosch so a tuneup is cheap. I also sell Holley if I need to do anything with the Carb. My main worries would be the compression and the transmission.

All in all for the right price I think it just needs a lot of elbow grease. This without seeing the boat in person of course.

How do you post pictures that aren't on a website?

Thanks

Brett

Anybody know what the engine options were in 92? Did they still use the PCM 351 240hp motor or did they bump up to more HP?

Brett from what I have read it should be the boss 285 like Jason said but I am not sure. Like I said Viper will have the walkthrough hatch. Super glad to finally have ya over here! From what I have HEARD 1100 hours is no biggie, should top 2000 easy I THINK.

285hp out of a 351W should have plenty of grunt then for surfing and wakeboarding.

Does anybody have any idea what gauges are in this boat? How about how they mount? It looks like they kind of sit flush with the fake wood panel and they have no bezel. If I can mount standard gauges that have a bezel I should be able to do it pretty cheap.

Also, has anybody had vinyl work done? Any body have any idea how much it might cost to have the 3 rear cushions refoamed and reupholstered as well as the rear hatch? I figured if I was to have it redone I would have them do solid panels without all the extra stitching and nothing more than the piping around the outside.

Many users here have redone vinyl and dash. You may want to look at a few restoration threads.
