Hey, this is my first post but I have to say this site has helped me alot in the past - Thanks

Now onto my problem, the warning buzzer. I put a new deep cycle/starting battery in my boat for the weekend and after a couple hours the first day the warning buzzer came on. I noticed the that voltage gauge read 10 - 11 volts. I had a booster so we carried on. I checked the alternater later that day and it read 11.6 volt while the boat was running and that voltage was the same at the battery. It started fine for that day and Sunday, no issues. I thought the alternater should be around the 14 volt mark? The buzzer wont shut off at idle or high rpms ant the volt gauge always read aroun the 10 - 11 mark. Could it be a faulty alternater that just isn't giving enough charge shut the buzzer off but still giving the battery 10.5 volts to charge with. Any ideas? thanks again. oh, the boat is a 94 ts6m with a 351 pcm

Pull your alternator and have it tested. That will tell you for sure what's going on.

New alternater works great, need second battery for stereo then will be happy. Hopefully clear sailing for rest of season.
