I need to re-carpet my trailer. Is there anything I should know before doing this. Do i just cut the carpet and staple it on the wood? Am I supposed to use a glue as well?

I just did mine. You dont need glue, factory doesnt. I would recomend stainless steel staples. It is quite easy and straight forward. Look for rusted bolts etc while replacing carpet. Good time to replace.

SI, did you use locally available material or did you order marine specific material already cut to standard bunk width? What did this project cost you in materials and time if you don't mind me asking?

I used boat specific carpet. It is the same as a outdoor carpet, nothing special.

Just wanted to re-iterate the stainless steel staples. They stay wet for a long time due to the carpet, and regular ones will begin the rust immediately. Make sure and use stainless or you will be re-stapling about once a year or so.
