Hi I am new to the fourm but so far I am in love this site is great one of the best I have seen. I just bought a 89 sun sport and I need any info on ideas for installing a ballast system. I have a long sack in the ski locker in the back and thought about fly high custom makeing one fot the front under the play pen seats but there is a wall between the two. Also haveing a slight cutting in and out while under a load. i have owned may boats so I have done all the normal stuff. But rebuild the carb and replace the distributor I and wondering if the spring and magnets might be the prob also its runnig a 160 thurmostat I think it needs a 140. Thanks Chris

Hey man best of luck they are nice boats. Your boat MAY have some hidden storage space in the open bow, look on the passenger sider under the storage compartment. THere may be a dividor wall to remove. I was able to fit a 400lb sac in here, and another in front of the driver and I still have my open bow available for storage. Check my thread for more ballast stuff

My boat has a 160 thermostat. THe carb usually needs cleaning on these older boats that have been sitting a bit.

Wow you sure got a great deal!! I do have pics of the front sacs, links at bottom. I upgraded the prop too and it makes the boat rip out of the hole with any amount of weight. I'm pretty sure the MT2 is taller than the MT1 by almost a foot.

I recently bought 2 350lb sacs from straightline. They fit perfectly under both sides of the seats in the bow. I have a 93 Sunsport and it works fantastically! Just my $.02
