I talked to JT today from Nettle Props and he is a super nice guy! However, he needs to know the shaft circumference for my 93 Sunsport. I destroyed a prop this weekend and am looking into getting a new one. The prop that is oin there now is an OJ 3 blade 14X16. He said it would most likely be an Acme 437 or for the 4 blade (which I would rather have) a 1433. Can anyone tell me the circumference? I don't have a micrometer or any tools at the house right now.

Thanks guys!

Chris

I would suggest taking a close look at your drive shaft and make sure it's not cracked or stressed in anyway. I destroyed a prop last year then invested in a new one. Snapped my shaft last weekend because it was cracked and now I'm out 350 for another new prop.

Do you happen to know if we (Supraboats.com) get a discount over at Nettle Props?

Memmer,

Once I figure out the circumference, I will talk to JT about getting a deal for the forum users. I know a lot of people on here like to do gruop buys so maybe we can work something out?

Memmer was that 1458 prop a 4 blade?

No It was a 3 blade. It's not the exact prop I wanted but found it new on ebay for a really good price so I had to pick it up. I'm looking for a 4 blade that was recommended to me by the owner of ACME last year but I can't remember the exact model. The 1458 was great with a full boat and about 350lbs of sacs. I've recently upgraded to about 1000 lbs of sacs and it didn't have the hole shot I was looking for. Once I added another 750lb sac to surf it was a dog.

How much weight do you run in your boat?

Memmer,

I am currently running about 1800 lbs of sacs. I have 2 350 pounders in the bow and 2 540 pounders in the back, one in the ski locker and one on the floor between the doghouse and the bench seat. It is throwing a mean wake!!!!

Well Memmer you were right it is a 1" circumference. I am currently getting my prop repaired from a guy that is local. He has been in the prop refurbishing biz for 36 years! He has some of the biggest props I have ever seen. One of them sells for $10,600 and he is repairing both of em! He also has a beautiful acme 4 blade that is 14.75X15.5 that must have came off a Mastercraft that he rebuilt. The thing is he has had it for a year and these people skipped town and disconnected their phone number! No I think he wants to sell it.
