Bilge pump inop

I noticed the dash light for front bilge pump was on and wouldn't go off. The pump was not running. I reached down behind ski locker and played with float on pump. It appeared to be sticky, got the light to go off on dash but could not get pump to cycle. The pump is a Sahara.

Anyone else have issues with this pump. Boat has 80 hrs and the bilge rarely operates unless the switch is turned on. However, I'm assuming since the light on the dash is on and the pump isn't that it's shot.

The dash light may be for the auto bilge float? If you have a float, move it up or down does the pump come on? Regardless, if your pump doesn't work get a new one. They are cheap. Check Overtons, Skidim.com, West Marine, etc... If you have a volt-meter you can test to see that you have power at the pump as well. Good luck.
