I know if there's one thing I love on a boat in October, November, February, and March it's a heat snake. Has anyone installed a snake aftermarket? Or does anyone live in a warm climate and not use theirs that wants to get rid of it? I need tips!

I know that most of them pull heat off of the exhaust manifolds... however I'm not real sure how it works or what components I would need for DIY. Anybody?

Id be interested in this also. I have a heater but it comes out of one spot, there isnt an extendable hose. I would love to add one on so i can actually get the heat on me!

I know that doesnt help you Chris, but hopefully someone will come along.

your vents in the walk through don't come out? I never knew mine did til Gravity was making fun of me for liking his so much, not knowing my boat did it as well.

cmtaylor, you shouldnt tell some stories. But damn thats funny. I just recently had a mechanic tell me My yukon needed some work. He said dash lights dont work. I said just turn this dial here on the dash and wala. the lights come on. Boy was he red faced.

Mine are screwed in. Are yours? I was imagining if they came out it would have been a latch. Am i wrong?

Yea. They should come out. Not the whole housing. Just the vent. Put your fingers in the vent near the middle and give it a tug. You should have the same as mine.

It also talks about it in the manual. Damn that thing has some useful info. I just forget to really look at it.

I've got my plan all setup for adding one.... http://www.marinenutz.com/products/Heater%20Craft%20303%252dH%252dC%202%20Vents%20plu s%201%20Hot%20Tube%20%252d%20Complete%20Kit.html

That kit has everything you need. I'd install the heater-core below the radiator (I have this really odd space under the glove box, in front of the spotters seat and only accesible from under the bow seats.... there is nothing but empty space and stereo wiring there in my boat. I'd run the snake up and have that vent exit right next to the glove box -- add another vent under the drivers seat and one blowing on the spotters feet and be warm + cozy year round. Could be on the list of upgrades for next year.....

That would be the ideal addition... however, I'd like to spend less than $350. Anybody know of cheaper alternatives? Anything homemade?
