So, I have finally decided to "just go for it" and get this boat.
It's supposed to be an 88 Rider, but I'm not sure it's an 88.
It doesn't really matter much anyway.
Here's a pic in-case someone has a better idea as to what year it is:

On to my question...
This boat has a Chevy 350 in it. I'm not sure why, but I'm not gonna complain, I like 350s just fine.
Do you guys think this uses the same fresh-water pump as a Supra with a 351 in it would?
I haven't been able to see it in person yet but, I have some pics of the motor.
This looks like the pump right here on the starboard side:

I was looking on skidim.com for impellers, any idea which part number I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance,
Travis

Travis,

I would CALL the skidim people -- I have found them to be extremely helpful and knowledgable.

Are you sure it's not a 454? Anyway, the part number for a Sherwood impeller is 10615K

If you look at the hull serial number the last numbers should tell you the year of the boat.
A 454 would have a really wide valve cover.

As far as the HIN and year, I think I figured that out.
The HIN is 'XKB'?80200F484.
So that should make it an '84.
The windshield design looks a little newer, but maybe some of the '84s had the "newer" windshield.

I'm pretty sure the engine is a 350, the 454s had very wide valve covers. Here is a couple more pics of the engine:

I know she looks like she's in rough shape, but the price is right.
The place I'm getting it from is puting new stringers in it as I type.
Thanks for the replies guys!

Yeh it would be an 84, but they to my knowledge never made a riders boat in 84 as wakeboarding wasn't popular till the mid 90's. May be a mariah? The motor looks like somebody dropped in a car engine. Automotive carbs generally don't supply as much fuel on acelleration and also the electrical system (starter, ignition, alternator) would not have spark retarders in them. which is marine standard so that you don't have a spark and blow up your boat. I would look into this, especially if you are using it in a hot climate.

Good Luck

Just checking out some of the other things on the site and it looks like it is a Rider, there is some nice 83-85 riders in the forum.

I agree with fastab, that is not a marine carburator. It has the externally adjustable floats, and I think it is a double pumper. Great street carb, but marine carbs are designed to vent/flood back into the engine, and feature fewer leak oppertunities for safety. I would Ebay this carb to some performance street guy, and instal one from this list:

Good luck with your new toy.

Thanks for the heads up guys! Unfortunately the boat isn't here yet, but hopefully I'll have it in a week or so. It's gonna need an engine rebuild anyway, so I'll see about a carb then. I might have a marine carb lying around here somewhere.

They guy who's replacing the stringers is gonna leave the floor out for me, so I'm thinking some sub-floor ballast is gonna be in this boat's future. :)

I'm supposed to get some pics of the stringer install on Monday or Tuesday, so, I'll post them up.

Also I'm looking for a used prop. What shaft diameter should I be looking for? I think a 3 blade 13/13 is about right.
