I tried uploading video to photobucket and a lot of the quality was lost. I love photobucket for photos tho. Thought I give Vimeo a try for the video and it is much better.

Here's a vid I uploaded of a friend trying to surf behind our boat. He usually surfs the other side and was having some trouble.

It does show our wake good tho with roughly 2200lbs of ballast....

Good post. I've always thought of posting up some videos, but also don't like the quality on photobucket. Like you said, great for pic posting though. I've just been too lazy to take the time to register and get setup on Vimeo. The quality of your video is great.

Can you share with us a little more about your camera and setup? Which video camera? On a mount? Video editing software?

And nice looking wave, it looks like you've got that thing dialed in

Thanks. The camera shoots great video and comes with editing software which really does pretty good.

The camera is a Kodak Playsport (shoots 1080p and is waterproof to 3 meters)

I mount it on a Delkin Fat Gecko which is crazy strong and easy to attach and remove.

I attach a small piece of foam "noodle" to the setup in case it does come off and fall overboard.

Here is my setup....

Thanks for sharing Scottie. Looks like that mount is $89ish?
We've been using a Flip video camera with waterproof case, and getting good results this season, although, I've been looking hard at the GoPro setup. Now that it's August, and I only have 3 or 4 months of riding left, I think I'll try to fight the urge for a new camera and wait until next year :)

I NEED to ride that wave!!!

Yea, I think that's about what I paid. I have the Flip also but it doesn't do HD. I too have the housing for it but I lose most of the audio. So, no housing and HD sold me on the Playsport plus it shoots stills in 5MP. Come visit anytime and we'll get you on that wave!

I have the same camera. It does work great. I like the stand you have. Does it work good. I also use vimeo. Like the quality.

Scottie great lookin wave oh man I would love to give that a rip! Love the video quality and thanks for posting to Vimeo so I can watch at work hehe!! I love youtube, but not really for my personal videos for some reason.

Not to be a know-it-all but I was taught to always always turn the same way your wave is set up. This way your slumped side is always protected from stay rollers and your high side breaks the wave first. It's also much easier to get the boat/rudder to work effectivly; imo the boat turns easier this way.

I agree but my boat naturally turns the other way. When the rider goes down... we cut the throttle and the boat spins an almost complete 180 on its own it the opposite direction (non surf side). Its a bear to get it going the other way so we don't fight it.

I love the stand. I'm amazed at how solid it is and the 2 suction cups gives me peace of mind about it holding tight. Highly recommend!

That's what we do as well, cut the throttle and let the boat spin on its own, then idle back to the rider.
No Power Turns!!!
Now if it's a weekend with a tuber heading towards my rider, I'll gladly power back to my rider with a 6350lb+ roller headed the other boats direction. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n315/woodwrangler/1lg039razz.gif
But then again, I don't head out much on the weekends. Another month, and we'll have the lakes to ourselves again!

What resolution was that video shot at on your playsport?

The vid I posted was 720p. The playsport has the capabilities of 1080p but it takes longer to upload due to the file size.
