Cooling system maintenace

Aside from the impeller change annually, and winterization drain out, is there anything else that needs to be done to the cooling system for maintenance?

I like to run R.V. antifreeze through mine, to coat every thing and hopefully reduce rust formation in the waterjackets.

For winterization? I was told by my dealer not really necessary where its not freezing, typically I blow out my heater core and drain the block and impeller housing for winterization.
