How do I access the impeller on my 1990 supra sunsport (Ford PCM 351) for inspection and replacement?
Do I have to remove the entire water pump assembly?
There seems to be four bolts connecting the back of the impeller housing to the water pump assembly. Three of the four seem easily accessible, but there's one that I'm not sure how to access without removing other stuff first... Is that the general idea, start removing stuff until I can access all four bolts?
Also, my supra manual said that I can inspect the impeller by just removing the top hose and manually turning the wheel and looking for any wear... is it worth inspecting first or is it a hard fast rule to replace annually. The manual didn't mention replacing on a regular schedule but I seem to remember hearing here that it should be replace each year or so.
Thanks in advance!
