What software have you guys found is the best for editing HD video?

i am looking for a program that can take of a part of the video and turn it into a picture file. I heard that the software that comes with the flip video camera can do that. Anyone know of a downloadable version.

What software have you guys found is the best for editing HD video?

I am using movie editor pro 16 HD, formats in .mp4.... have not figured out everything but it has a ton of features, seems like a good package. I got it on sale for $29, regulard price was $89.
