Some of you have probably seen this on the Moomba site but I figured I'd post over here too.
There was some LED's posted on the classified section of Wakeworld, and I thought I would chat with the guy and see what made his any different than anyone else.

1. They didn't need to be underwater to work. (overheating issues)
2. Over 720 lumens, and will take 9-32volts DC.
3. Original products designed for off-road use, so they are definately going to be durable
4. Customer service top notch.
5. Under $250... enough said.
6. Small enough footprint to fit the LSV.
7. These lights also are hard anodized prior to powder coating for added durability.
8. All electronics are grounded to the housing itself, which when connected to the positive and ground of the battery, it completes the circuit.

With all these reasons I decided to pic 2 up. One white one for me and one redone for my brother-in-laws X-1. Before we mounted his we decided to get a 2nd red one for his.

I installed it and... Holy Hell these are bright. I cant look straight at it because I feel like I'm looking at the sun. When I got them and pulled them out of the box, the first thing I thought was these things are well made! All milled, billet aluminum, and powder coated. These things are easily a pound a piece.
I connected them to a half dead bench battery in the sunlight and they hurt to look at.

Take my word for it these are nice lights!

After talking with Darick Schmitt with visionxstore.com He instructed me how to dis-assemble the factory deusch plug so I wouldn't had to drill a huge hole in the hull. Here is the "how too" on these lights, then some water shots.

First I carefully removed the heatshrink around the deusch plug then used a pick to remove the green wedge that holds the plug together on the light, and dis-assembled the plug.
Then I located a position that I could easily access both from the inside and the outside of the boat. With the LSV there are no flat spots in the transome with the exception of the area above the wakeplate.
Laid out where the hole for the wire would go (3/4").
Drilled backwards untill the bit face was far enough through the gelcoat that I could go forward w/o creating chips in the gel.

Next I put the light in place, then marked and drilled the mounting screw holes. I then went back and used the 3/4" bit in reverse to open the face of the holes up to keep from chipping the gel when installing the screws.

Next I put a generous amount of 3-m adhesive sealant around the wire and on each screw hole and installed it.

Re-install the wires in the plug and install the green wedge and your ready to wire.
I tied mine into my docking lights with an additional switch. So when my docking lights are on I can turn my transome lights on with an addithonal switch.

I see a group buy coming on! Hope you guys like it!

Forgive the shameless Active Water Sports plug.:D

I also don't see anything in posts 2 and 3, even though it appears there SHOULD be pictures. ...

Yea for some reason somewhat pics aren't showing up on some operation systems. The water was pretty clear but there was a lot of algea foating around. After we had the boats moored back up the fish came in really thick to the lights. It was pretty cool.
Also for reference the one where you could see the ground, the water was over 6ft deep. I'm trying to get my buddy to get a blue one so I can see how that looks.
The guy I bought them from has been following these posts so if you have any q's post up and I'm sure he can help you out.

Are you reffering to a group buy? Otherwise I would just check out wakeworld in the classifieds section. Right now they are $249 and I think there is a coupon code for 10% off on the add running on WW. If you guys want to do a group buy I would be happy organize it. I'll also send Darick w/ motorsports squared this link and have him post up on here so he can answer any questions on the lights.

I just signed up here to watch the thread and answer any questions. Feel free to ask away. Ryan did a great install job and write up, thanks man!!

You can go over to Wake World classified to see my ad and coupon code, I have also talked with Ryan and given him the authorization to do a group buy on these lights. And any of our LED lights for that matter. We also have strip lighting in Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Amber, White and Multi-color. Plus an LED Pod kit that comes with 8-LED pods, power distribution block and smart controller that lets you do all sorts of crazy flashing and strobing patterns and even has a built in microphone that is noise sensitive so it will flash to the beat of music. Click Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHT4vXt8xp8) to see a Multi Color kit demo on You Tube

Hey Newty,

Since you went to the trouble of removing and reinstalling the deutch plugs, I assume you "plugged" them into your system. Where'd you get the matching half of the connectors?

Hey Newty,

They come with the female end wired to the light and a male end with a 5" pigtail, You just splice your wire into the into the pigtail supplied plug them together, and switch them. Red to hot black to ground. Super easy. All you need is some heat shrink and a couple butt connectors and your in buisness.

You all saw the group buy on the general chat page right? $205 shipped!!!:D Lemme know!

Does Darick have any larger pics of the blues (pref wide angle lens) installed? Blue LED's seem to vary a bit from mfg to mfg. Also I didn't see any dimensions listed on their site or your write up & want to verify space for two on my transom.

BTW - nice touch including both halves of the deutch connectors, although shouldn't be much of a maintenence item so direct splices should suffice.

Again, congrats on the nice addition to both boats.

He had a pic of a yacht with a couple blue spots up on the WW site but took them down and put up my pics. I would PM him and ask.
As far as size they have a 4" outside diameter. and roughly 1 1/4 inch thick. I wouldn't think thickness would be an issue.

RE the thickness - that's not what she says...

Seriously, thanks for the info. I pm'd msquared to see what he has on the blue.
