Have a few questions

I will replace my old PCM ford 351 engine in my boat, and wonder if there is someone who knows how many hp I can have on my PCM 40 A gear? the gear have an ratio on 1,23:1 and 9 degree down angle.

Shaft has a diameter of 1 "and length of 42", how many hp is good for the shaft?

I plan to put in a MerCruiser at 5.7 liters, which provides 300 horsepower, will it go?

I bolted up a 310 hp ford 351 to my 1.23 transmission when it had about 800 hours on it. Right now, there are 1214 hours on the transmission, still going strong. I change the fluid every 100 hours.
