so i put the fat sac on the port side for the first time to try some surfing. didn't work out great so we just played around. No onewas used to it being on that side which turned out entertaining Sara was the first to meet it. she had a good fall after that air she got. Then i started doing some toe side 180's in the wake. lets just say the beer kicked in and made me try it across the wake. that is where you don't see my face cause it is enjoying the water.

Yeah right on. Wake to wake is bad ass. Remember when I crossed it for the first time. Super cool. Now we just need to get you doing some inverts. I need to know where that spot is that you ride. Want to set up a cross country wakeboard tour next summer and looking for great places to ride and that looks bad ass. I'll get some pics up on my next post. Got to sort through them. Went out yesterday.

Hey thanks! it was a great day out there, I had two runs about 15-20 minutes each. What a workout, I was sore yesterday! that lake during the weekday morning is rediculousy beautiful and the best damn water I have ever been on. Like a little slice of heaven, definitely not thinking about work, life, problems, etc... when I am out there.... as my wife says "being on the water is your happy place"..... she is definitely right.

Now I just need to start improving my jumping on my toeside (or is heelside?), whatever the opposite side of the wake I am currently jumping on is called.

She let go right after that pic cause she freaked out. Kind of like me when i get big air on the wakeboard. Sometimes when you go big you just don't know what to do.

Man thats a long time. everyone calls me quickie because as soon as i get up i'm doing 180's out of the wake, trying surface 180's, and going big as i can across the wake. I don't last to long, but maybe one day i can put a solid 5 min run together.

Well, I repaired the fin box that got torn out of the board last weekend. I ended up sanding through the yellow finish just a touch, as you can see, but no biggie.

And we're all loaded up, just waiting for the kids to get out of school, then we're outta here for the weekend.

well got rained on when we left for the lake on friday, and it poured today on the way home from lake. Never saw a drop at the lake. Sweeeet! Here's some pics. Tried my first back roll this weekend, and it wasn't pretty. I hate when i can't say no. Peer pressure sucks. So sprained my foot 1st try. then did the same thing the second time hurt worse. then again this morning. oh well can't wait till its heels up. i'll post the video on a thread when i get it on vimeo.

IMHO the trick is to not stop edging right through the wake. Hold the same position with handle tight into your hips (critical!). Try to get upside down, and then glue your chin to your lead shoulder. Looking over your shoulder will let you spot the water SUPER early and took away most of my feeling of vertigo/closed eyes.

Now I feel like I'm able to focus on keeping the handle in and getting upside down, then chin-to-shoulder and spot the landing.

Keep that handle in!!! SHould be in tight before takeoff, while you're setting up your edge. Dont ever let it out (arms slack)

We went out at 7am on Monday for the holiday for some awesome water, then had a massive brunch after some great wakeboard tows on the water! Here a are a few pics of my youngest son, wife, myself and a good friend (only 48 years young! - he's the one where his head was cut out of the pic)

Water temp is still holding well, 78 degrees, air temp was about 70 when we were out early.

October is just around the corner, get out and ride!!!!

Here is a link for you boys on the heelside backroll. I would suggest following this videos instructions. It's how I learned to do mine and it makes learning relatively pain and injury free. As far as inverts go I think learning a tantrum is easier. I nailed that right away. A heelside backroll I think is a little harder to throw as a first invert.

Now, the best part....... Who else can say they met a fellow Supra owner this weekend....... Then was able to convince them to take you night surfing..... a mere 12 hours (and 12 beers) later...... and on THEIR Supra??? (thanks again Scott & Erin, shoot me a pm so I can give you a call). Hopefully, I'll have the video up soon :)

I agree, does anyone own a Supra in the Sacramento area!?!?!? I NEVER see any Supra's on the water.... occasionally, I run into a Moomba, but they are even far and few. Its always Mastercrafts and Malibus!

That white 24 SSV's stereo is off the hook, that thing must be rediculous to be towed behind! WOW, talk about some speakers!

Newbie, great looking ride. It's the exact colour I been looking for.

But please get rid of the rocks.... They will make a good wake but will cause the boat to be much less boyant in case of a sudden wash over from a wave. Thus sending the boat to the bottom of the lake much quicker than if sacks were used.

Glad to see you are injoying the new boat!!

This one was taken in July by the wife of one of my friends a back in July. She didn't email it to me until September though, so I guess it qualifies. We've had the boat for 18 years, and it's actually the only picture I have of it in the water.

Working for a living sucks, you should get on the "Obama" plan.... aka "I deserve everything my neighbor has without having to work!"... his new socialism plan is coming together!

WOW! Coming from a west coastie....thats AWESOME! I expect that kind of sarcasm from Kentucky Hillbillies like me. :D

I'm done for the season because of work.....and kids and everything else. Putting her away for the winter this weekend and it was 101 degrees here yesterday. :(

Joel,

Nice pics...love the color scheme of your Sunsport ;-)

We had a Land Cruiser wagon when I was a kid. It was a 1983. My parents bought it brand new. We took many a family vacation in that thing until I was done with HS.

thanks for the comments. Yeah the cruiser is regeared for the 37" tires, definitely not speeding anywhere towing the boat, but it does the job.

OK guys. This has absolutely nothing to do with anything accept that because I have been experiencing vibration and transmission issues for a while, and haven't been able to get out on the boat for like the past several weeks, I can really relate to this pic. So this is my September, no boating or skiing or wakeboarding - might as well sit back with cold one and a stogie! This was sent on facebook by a friend in Maryland - where I grew up and ate crabs on a regular basis. Miss the crabs (and the friends)!
