Electrical Issue

I was riding around tonight in my 02SSV when I heard a pop and the guages went crazy. I stopped the boat and shut the engine off to take a look at the engine compartment. When I went to start the boat back up... nothing.
My lights come on but some things like the depth finder doesn't. When I turn the key there is nothing. I ended up having to call a buddy to pull me and my 2 year old son in.
I checked the battery cables and they were fine.
Any ideas on what could be the issue?

Did u check all the fuses?

I'd go through the ignition system and charging system probably too.
U probably should check all the mechanical aspects of it too, could have been something in the engine that pop'd.
