Trying to find the thread that was posted a while back that was pulled over from WakeWorld. It was the step by step process for building a surfboard. I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks guys!!!

I'm going to try it out. I may be foolish to think I can pull it off, but what the hell. You never know!!

Foolish experiments are the best kind! You will learn a ton, maybe pick up a new hobby, and maybe have something kick to show for it that you can save for a long time! May I also recommend home brewing your own beer! :)

Whoa Mikey. One crazy thought at a time. I will stick to buying my beer. I am hooked on this surfing thing though. This is the first year trying it and I am hooked. I wish I could get a little help in weighting my boat but I guess everyone is tired of answering weighting questions. I'm going to try this build and document the hell out of it. Could be a fun thread to read.

Jet-We discovered when you ride it like a surfboard and not a wakeboard, it actually cuts some pretty quick sharp turns. Its all in how you ride.

Jet,

You are crazy as always. Are you telling me that ALL the top riders just don't know what they are doing? The only boards that are being ridden are shaped that way. I guess all the pros are clueless and they just need to place a call to In Gear to clear up what they should really be riding. Any pro out there that needs a quick lesson from Jet, PM me. I will give you his number. :p

Damn..tuff crowd. Its just preference man. And as far as the paid Pro's, If I paid you as a pro to endorse and ride my newly shaped hot dog wiener you would jump on it, good product or not. You think Dale Jr only drank Budweiser?? Nope. A surfboard is like a sports car, not a fat slow turning station wagon. A real surfer wants speed and sharp turns..you know, a surfer! Can i make a tube turn a little bit dragging my leg off? Yes,,but it isn't a fast turning sports car, its just a fat stupid tube being pulled around on top of the water, you need BITE to turn fast and be stable so you can make the board go where you want it, not the board telling you where to go. Its like driving your car on ice, Its fun for a while but after some time you want some assurance that your tires will stick and the car will do what you ask of it. Just my .01 cents. Call me when you start building it and i will help out..sounds fun. : )

surfboard techy stuff:
Generally, sharper and lower rail line designs are used for large or steep and hollow conditions. In these waves, the rail is needed to bite more into the wave so the board can remain stable at faster speeds. Sharper rails are also needed if sweeping turns are planned that use more rail than fin.
