I am selling my 1987 23ft supra saltare ski boat. It has a 454 big block v8 engine that runs great. We have replaced the sub floor and carpet, all the vinyl interior is brand new, new 12inch sub with a brand new deck where you insert an ipod into the deck. It has brand new trailor brakes, wheels, fulton f2 winch and jack, wiring and bunks. The boat operates perfectly and looks badass. This boat has had 9 people on board and still towed a tube with no problems. I am asking $6500 firm. The boat also comes with 2 new deep cycle batteries, the original snap on bow and stern covers as well the original trailorable cover. We also will include a 3 person towable with rope and 4 life vests. We have all the safty eqiupment required on board and 2 dock lines and bumpers. The boat also comes with 150feet of anchor line with anchor.

So I am having the boat insp and winterized Friday. I think I'm just gonna park it in my shop and sell it in the spring when boat prices match the value better. It makes me feel sick to my stomach to considering selling it for only $6500.

Saw your boat on ebay about a month ago. Had successful bids on it as well. Did it end up getting sold?

No, the winning bidder said "he did not have the funds available that he thought he would" so I stop listing it and figured I would try to sell it in the spring when I can get closer to what the actual value to it is. NADA lists the value at $8,135.00 and thats without the trailor and brand new interior.

I guess that is kind of good then. It seems to me it had sold for a little cheaper than that on ebay. Holding out to the spring should get you a bit more money. Especially when it can be lake tested to show that it works fine. There is always a certain amount of risk with buying a boat over the winter when it cant even be started up

Exactly! I have it in my shop where I work now and the owner is cool with it being here over the winter so its all good!

what are you hoping to get for it in the end? I have been trying to convince my sister to buy it. It would be a bit of a drive though for her to go get it, and she would prolly rather wait till spring when the roads clear up

I'd like to get $9500 for it with all the work that has been done on it. I would take $7000 if it was soon. Theres also a guy I have been talking to that is real intrested in it. he would like to trade a nice truck and some things for it. Money talks though for sure. Where is your sis located?

She is just down the street from me in Airdrie Alberta Canada. Thats why she would prolly be looking to wait till spring. I think she has a hard time realizing how big those boats actually are. They are using an 18' runabout right now. So this will be quite a bit bigger

If you end up selling it to someone else I wouldnt be upset. I have been pointing her at boats for the last couple months. She is dragging her feet though

It's always good to renew that Craigslist ad every month or so.. Do you have nice pics? Link the ads up here!

Ya I upgraded to me 21' from a 16.5' runabout oh MAN it seemed like a monster boat for a long time. But then I started to realize how much more boat I was really getting!!! It's a great boat.

I am not gonna re-post it untill Spring time or so. I have it all stored up for the Winter so I am not worried about better pics yet. I will get new pics when I bring it out of storage. I am in no rush to sell the boat now. if someone comes along and wants it thats cool but I am good on keeping it for awhile, It will sell for a lot more in a few months I'm sure.

You need to remove all the ads for a week or two. Then pull the trailer out to another location and snap some good pics. Make sure you change the add enough to make it seem fresh. Old ads get lost in the catagory of whats wrong with it when they sit idle too long.

deff agree with daff on this one. Get some much much bigger res pictures. Take a million of them from different angles. People will travel to buy these boats, but they will want to see everything on it. May as well have a folder full of pics to email them when they ask.

Having it out in the water, or out in the open when you take the pics helps.

I know I watch FS ads and notice who is selling what and how long it has been listed. How much I offer is related to how long it has been for sale, and how bad I want a good deal vs how bad I want the boat (or item)
