I get that all the time. I run into friends I haven't seen since college and it never fails that they ask: "how's the boat runnning?"

I put Mariah to bed in her storage unit for winter this past Saturday and I must have spent a good two or three minutes just looking at her and saying goodbye before I pulled the door down to lock it up. I actually caught myself saying "we'll see you in springtime baby." Sad, I know.

I have owned the boat for almost 20 years... It's one of mylast childhood keepsakes. Sometimes I still think I'm a teenager when I'm sitting in it.

Mine calls it "the other woman" - she wanted me to put that on the stern! Not gonna do that . . . when I spend afternoons in the garage she knows I've been with the other woman!

...when I told the wife I needed a moment with the boat before closing the doors to the storage unit for winter time. That was a sad October day.

Yeah, some wives look for lipstick on the collar or scent of cheap perfume. Now mine knows to look for grease under the fingernails and fiberglass rash as the clues that I've been with the other woman...
