Props, shafts and struts can be repaired if they're not too badly damaged -- and for a fraction of the cost.

Timmie,

What did you hit? Did you check with your insurance to see if
hitting something submerged is covered?

doc, parts from the forum never surfaced....I've got everything stripped off the boat, drive shaft looks excellent (surprisingly enough) and I think the strut will be repairable. I'm in for a prop and rudder, which needed to be done anyway. It was steering like '52 chevy (no offence dad!)
Just gotta make the trip up to KPS to drop everything off....

Its actually the oem , I was not satisfied with it and the fact that i could never get it perfectly aligned (although SC said it was ok !!!!!! not!!!!). I bought a new one installed it and now I can align it to zero tolerance the way it should be......so i have one thats a good walking stick / firestick or wall ornament

Thanks for the replys. Y'all hillarious! I think my shaft is about that long. I have never measure it before.
I have dead stop while riding the foil on a sand bar before but no damage. It's the sudden stop that gets you. Will get with insurance company, tommorow to see if it is covered, Todd. I just thank God, that no one got hurt in the boat. After all it's only a boat.
