Hey Jet,

I just picked up a 86 Comp TS6m. Do you know the interior speaker size. Are they 6.5's like the newer Supras? It is in storage and I am trying to figure out the Audio before summer.

I am thinking about running 4 JL 7.7 on the tower with a MTX marine 10" sub powered by a MTX AUDIO TM1805 amp. A was also thinking about switching the interiors with some MTX 6.5s.

The guy that had it before me had the head unit under the seat. Where did you mont yours?

Thanks in advance!

Head unit should'a been in the glove box, but prolly broke out of there at some point. My cabin speakers were 6.5's.....
Welcome to the forum, lets see some pics........

Not sure what size yours are? The prob is that these boats are 20 years old and 6x9's (oval) were more popular back then and 6.5's (round) are mainly used now. If they are round they should be 6.5's if oval then the other?? On the stereo..my boat..my music! lol. So I moved the stereo to the side wall by my left knee to the drivers seat. That way I can drive and play with the music at the same time, and my wife can reach it to if she's sitting next to me. Your stereo amp and speaks sounds like a nice combo, take pictures along the way. As for my steering wheel upgrade..dont cry when you see the price, lol. Its almost just like the new supra wheel but a $100 cheaper. lol

Or you could do like me. I really wanted a tilt wheel, so sourced a discontinued NOS tilt mechanism & a matching rotary helm (from 2 different sources) only to find the shaft was splined & my old wheel is keyed. "Honest honey, I really do have to get a new steering wheel now".

So make sure the new wheel is splined so you "have" to upgrade the helm while you're at it.

Nice Mike, I like where that's headed, unfortunately the tilt steering is one of the things she already knows is there!!!! Don't ask me how!!!!
