Hey guys, winter boredom here, making my list and checking it twice. You know our glove boxes have had it, I have a piece of tape covering up the hole from my radio being moved to driver seat area. The top is cracking, it still works but I want to upgrade it to something BIGGER and more water proof. I have looked around but havent seen anything that screamed this is it! One of my ideas is using a Pelican box that can be dropped in and takin back out to carry all of the phones, cameras and flips. Have you seen anything? Any ideas? Jet

I replaced mine when I relocated the radio. I reused the original door and trim to keep the OEM look . I cut the plastic box off and built a larger box out of 3/4 plywood . I covered the plywood with fiberglass and epoxied it to the underside of the passenger side storage area. The result is a functional glove box with a factory look.
PS make sure you add a drain I didnt think it would get wet in there untill I got caught in a storm and found my cell phone swimming in 1" of water.

Thanks Michael..that's what I'm looking for, more great ideas. Yours looks great. But yeah I know what you mean about the glove box filling up with water. Insert funny story here..the first week I bought my boat I went and put a brand new CD player, I installed it wed or Th, Friday we went out of town to spend the night at our friends house before we went camping on sat..so a storm came in rained like a mofo and I had a inch of water in the glove box..so what do I do? I turn on the stereo and poof!! It blew up and I never even got to crank it up. I was so frekin mad. Yours looks great, but I want something completely water proof. Yours gives me some ideas though. Thanks

Michael that is really nice, thats a great idea I'm going to buid off of. I would do the same except make each side a couple of inches longer to create a shelf below the glove box for a radio & "something else", still keeping the floor space "free" for stuff. Is it just apoxy holding it around the glove box or any other special support attaching it to under dash? I have never worked with either fiberglass or epoxy before, can you give a novice some pro/con with this. Were did you purchase your produts from? What product did you like/use? Any special tools? Thanks for the help.

Just 3/4 plywood a fiberglass kit and 2 part marine epoxy. I think I got it all at Menard's. I moved the radio to the small storage compartment on the drivers side. I had to build reinforcements on the inside under the dash for support. I added a wired remote to the side panel next to the throttle to control the radio from the helm.

Oh, your good. You just added them to "Your Boat Here" thread. Just wanted to see more of her. Question though. That picture of your boat sitting in the water or OCEAN?? What lake was that and how can it be that big and that flat??

Bing Bing Bing Maple is correct. We used to launch out of Portage Marina on the southern tip of Lake Michigan. As long as you have a south ,south west wind its the best lake in the area. You just have to adjust to cold water.

We just moved to Flowery Branch GA. We are 1 block from the ramp on Lake Lanier. If you are ever in the area give us a shout we will take you out.
