Any plans for Super Bowl? I have a pork shoulder on the smoker. I got some Leinenkugel's Red to go along with the food. I figured that would be a decent WI beer to go along with rooting for the Pack. We have several friends coming over and adding to the spread with some snacky stuff...should be a good time with friends, food and beer. One of my coworkers is probably going to bring some type of Indian dish, which I'm looking forward to, as well.

A couple pics...

No question who I'm rooting for. ;-)

Got a barrel of Iron City on ice, a ton of kolbassi in the fridge, had several primanti brothers sammiches flown in, everything to make italian hoagies and a couple pounds of Isaly's chipped ham and Foodland baloney.

Indian dish? We'd throw him right out the window.

Game on!

I gotta tell ya - I'm a little nervous about this game.

The pack is a very good team.

But, ya know it would be dang boring if the Steelers won all the time :)

Indian dishes just don't exactlly jive with the culture of the 'Burgh.

Were more of a german/Irish/Polish/Hungarian/Chech/ kinda mix

I got Jerkey ready to go on the smoke shortly - but not really because of the bowl, it was
just "time to make me some jerky".

I made the best pork-butt ever a couple weeks ago -- (good thing I got some
in the freezer still!)

A few more pics...

All condiments must be green and yellow ;-)

I find it very interesting that most people west of the Mississippi have tile counter tops.

Pretty rare here in the east. Were mostly formica or granite

I have a prediction for tonights game...

I guarantee the team wearing yellow pants will win.

and I'll be damn sorry I wrote that if the Steelers come running out wearing their black pants with the gold stripe.

That would be pretty funny!

At our other house we were granite. Our CA house was tile too. It is kind of interesting to see the differences in different parts of the country.

Ed,

Most people I know either have formica or some form of granite ...

My countertop? Granite TILE! How's that for interesting! (but the grout lines are less than 1/8" --)

granite tile. I like the look of that. Your backsplash is awesome too!

In Florida, we typically have small crappy kitchens...well you know. your buddy lives in a subdivision with a house that is probably built very similar to mine.

I guess the builders think we will be outdoors more than in the kitchen.

Oh...and we grow our own bananas and oranges in our backyards :)

but we do have to buy firewood :(

Great game!

Certainly can't say it was a boring Superbowl - except for the half time show.

Congrats to the Packers and their fans

Todd,

LOVE your cabinets! Are they custom? What type of wood is that exactly?

Ed,

Definitely a great game, right to the end. I agree about halftime...could have been much better.

YAY PACK! Time for me to buy Super Bowl XLV Champions gear.

Okie -

They are semi-custom ... and made of rustic hickory

I don't have it here, but could get the name of the manufacturer, if you want.

They were made-to-order for my measurements, but they had to be of a style they
make anyway - but I could pick the wood type, and whether or not i had
solid sides, or "particle board" -- the drawers all have self closers in them, all
the cabinets have slide outs - but the SINGLE COOLEST feature is my pantry.
(this kitchen is MINE, not my wife's) -- and the triple ovens and 36" wide cook top
that I have -- ok, and the heated tile floor, and the "outside on the roof" exhaust fan and the ... well, can you tell I like my kitchen?

I love the hickory - but we nearly went with "rustic cherry" which I like probably more, but isn't
quite as hard.

Let me know if you need the name of the cabinet company -

Awesome. They look really good. My FIL build cabinets and he likes to do different kinds of wood like that. He tries to use something out of the ordinary...does a lot of hickory and cherry. We're probably going to have him make us cabinets for our next house, if we decide to build or if we remodel. He does all the cool self closing slides, latches. He also does a lot of special compartments, storage and slide outs.

Post some more pictures when you have a chance.

Gotta warn you Oakie...

When us Pittsburghers get beat up, we tend to keep coming back stronger than when we went down.

We will not allow Big Ben to retire without getting his 4 rings!!

You wait till next year! :)

Sounds good to me. Maybe we can have a rematch next year.
