General rule of thumb is one size leaner for each 2000'. So if it runs good at sea level now try dropping 3-4 jet sizes and see how it runs and how the plugs look. Is it a 4160 or 4150 style carb? It can be a pain to find metering plates for the secondary side if it's a 4160. You may want to get a kit to convert to a 4150 with secondary metering block if that is the case.
