i have a 1987 supra comp ts6m. i want to redo the black caulk/silicone around the boat that holds the bumper on. I was wondering if any of you have done this? and what it is I should use; is it a black silicone?
thanks

ahh, pics would help, but most likely you're dealing with a worn out 2 piece rub rail. The snap in, soft outer bumper usually just gets worn out. Under it semi rigid plastic is siliconed and screwed to the top cap of the boat.
I replaced mine, got new one through Jim Jackson at Viper Customs.
Search Rub Rail replacement on youtube and you"ll find some how-to vid's....
I have clear silcone under mine, no black. I would use clear. Also if you want to make your bumper look brand new without replacing it you can use carb spray. Spray it on a rag..wipe back and forth and wala'. It will looks brand new. I hit mine once a year. Jet
