View Full Version : Best tools for cutting stringers out??
Ready to start cutting the old stringers out. What tools did you use and why?? Any important things I need to be aware of? Thanks guys. Jet

I use a 4" air grinder/cut off saw with a 4" diamond blade cutting saw. These are specifically made for cutting fiberglass. Jamestown distributing has them for sale. The air grinder I have uses 15 CFM of air so a large compessor is needed. You can install the blades on an electric grinder / cut off saw but the fiberglass dust is extreamly abrasive and will ruin the motor if used for extended period of time. Still would probably be the cheaper buying two electric's verses one air. Good luck Al

Sawzall with a long blade works fairly well also.
wotan, I understand, but if I ask a question on that thread it only goes out to the people who have replied to it. And others who have already read that thread may not open it up again and I needed it to be open to all, to get more of a reaction and more help. It wast an update just a tool question. Sorry
