I know I should read all 8000 threads on here for the answer but I'm too frustrated. I blew both heads on my 99 Launch today with the Indmar. Where can I find replacements. Thanks guys this is really putting a damper on my season and it just started

should be any gm part number for vortec heads. but how on earth did you blow both head gasket?

I wish it was just the gaskets. Both heads are trashed. One has a hole the size of my fist and the other is cracked. The freeze plugs are all good though.

So it froze? If so you can count on the block being trash too. Either buy a reman engine or pick up any ol' Vortec headded 350 and rebuild it yourself using the marine parts from your old one that you can salvage.

Ouch! That hurts man. If it froze then you need to dig deeper before spending money on heads. I've seen frozen water do some pretty herendous damage. Maybe you can get a 409 to replace it?

Hey man, I hope you don't have to replace the motor. Let us know!

Buy a brand new ZZ4 rotating assy and install your cam and lifter set, plus timing gears, chain. Cheaper and better than rebuilds. If the heads froze the block did too. Al

Hey guys thanks for all the help. I posted this on Wakeworld also and got nothing but snooty comments about leaving water in it instead of how to fix the problem. This is why I bought a Supra, you guys rock!

Where are you located? If you are close to Northern Indiana, we can fit you up with a new rotating assy and heads. Don't leave the water too long inside or you will have more problems and higher cost's. Al

Also, since you ride year round it would be wise to drain the water out of the engine when done riding, even if you keep it in a heated garage. It only takes a few minutes to pull the drains and any hoses at low points.

PCM ZR-409 - that's what I'm talking about! 6.0Litre and 409 ponies - bwaahahahaha
Actually, I like Al's idea for an inexpensive "new" motor. Makes sense.
