Surprisingly enough, that isn't the next level really...big backcountry jumps have always been really prevelent in snowboarding, it just may not seem like it because all kids want these days are rails and "urban" type things...

This happened very recently though

Was just trying to point out amplitude of jumps, I spent my share of time in the Whistler Backcountry on sled's building booter's with guys making a living off it and the stuff they're doing now is bigger, like wingsuit bigger!!!

meh, baker gap type stuff was pretty big.

The reason kids are looking for rails instead is because they are way easier. I was dissapointed when Lake Louise decided to stop building the Mega Pipe. Not many kids were riding it. I would hit that all day!

I never minded a big kicker too. The problem I had was the icy landings in most parks.

Yeah, the lack of pipes is getting annoying...I was a semi-pro competitive pipe rider for a good number of years.

I think Kev had been out west for a year or two when I started. I rode lakeridge practically 7 days a week during the winter unless I was away at a competition.

Man the time I spent out west with that crew was unbelievable...The level of riding was amazing...Possibly some link to KY and the origin of the rodeo flip......He's down in Costa Rica with his fam now surfing, got to spend some time on the water with him a couple yrs ago, he's no different on water!!!
His older brother is still working with me to this day!

Maple I agree with you, Travis Rice and the vids they are putting out are SO epic. They are not like 'never before done tricks' epic, more like 'best snowboard movie i have ever seen' epic. I have That's It That's All from a couple years ago and omg it's so amazing.

This one looks like another amazing video.

There is a guy from MN now who does flips onto and off of rails. Hehehe
