If it is like most, remove that black plate the throttle lever is mounted to. It should pull away from that panel some to access the back. You should see how the end is connected from there...usually a sping lock mechanism of some sort.

that silver ring covers the back plate.

Are there screws on the face of the black back plate? Maybe a more cloe up picture would help.

It might have just popped off..I cant believe it would give out already..mine is original. take it off and look back there and I will bet its just popped off. You can also just lay on your back in the driver seat floor and look down the gunwall with a flash light but its a small hole, you should be able to get one arm in there.

Does it seem like there is some sort of collar in the center to remove? Seems like that is where you're at. Have you tried calling Supra (Skier's Choice)?

That plate is holding it in place..it has to un-clip somewhere??

Looks like the same Teleflex model CH2200 shifter I have going back in mine. The 4 screws are all that hold the mechanism plate to the trim panel - there are no clips on the back. With the 4 screws removed, the mechanism should be loose from the trim panel - but you need to move the throttle to half-throttle position so that the actuator arms in the back will clear the cut-out in the trim panel.

I'm pretty sure you can search Teleflex's website & find the instructions for more clarity. Let us know.

I will be replacing mine too, I think. Thanks for the tips.

On some of these boats there is a fresh air vent below the side window. On my 89 Mariah I removed it to provide additional visibility to the backside of the control.
