86 supra comp strips

Back in 05 I changed the striping on my 86 comp. At that time my boat guy witch also was a dealer of supra way bask when told me good luck on finding any more after this that is the last of my old stock. Well it’s time to replace the striping once more. I have the wave and letters made but the strip tape that proving to be hard to find. I hope some one out there knows were I can get some

Check with graphics shop. They usually make wraps for cars commercial vehicles and boats. They. An make a sticker or wrap with the wave logo. Otherwise I agree with Jet and pull them.

Yeah your boats color are soft, subtle and timeless..those stripes say "HEY LOOK AT ME-IM FROM THE 80"S"!! It all depends on what your trying to pull off.

For me the strip has to stay. I did opt for a narrower strip on the first replacement back in 1990. I went form a 3 ¼“to a 21/4”. So fare I’ve replaced them 4 times in the past . The graphics shop here can make me a strip but the longest he can make is 4’ I need about 14’ per. Side. In my eyes the gray on my comp just disappears it to the back ground with out some extra color. At one time I tried putting a militia colored blue strip no, that lasted about a week and I took it off.
Nice picture Jet I can tell your boat is well loved . Awesome color skim she is gorgeous. Didn’t I read in here you were think about trading boats . If so you are going to be sick when you see her leave.

I agree with replacing the stripes. There is no way your going to fool anyone that they boat is newer then it is. The Comp is a classic boat that is recognized all over the boating community. Best of luck finding the stripes!

Yes, she was great when i was single but now I have lots of boat friends and family. It needs to be bigger.

i was only too happy when i took mine off yesterday....btw the original owner gave me a roll or supra tape....it has to 12 ft peices of the 2 and 1/4 wide if anyone wants it......free:cool:

Hagman what are you doing to the stripes? My 89 still has the original stripes I had to change the waves because fuel overflow damaged them.

I’m just really picky . And it seam that about every 5 years something happens. I use her a lot. I average about 2 boat hrs per. Day. The boat has 1700 hrs times 8 hrs. a day not counting the night trips that’s 13,600 hrs.. wow! Don’t show this to my wife.
