What do i need to do put new points or go with the
electronic set up ?
The boat has 422 hrs

The electronic conversion kit is what will bring your boat from the points stone age.... I just did it to my impulse this year and wow is all I have to say... Def worth the money and cheap to boot

If you don't go electronic you should change the points every year . The only time you file them is in an emergency to get back or save a day.

Run one of the electronic pickup conversions. Worth every penny. This is coming from someone who hates technology and will never own any fuel injected vehicles. I've spent many years daily driving vehicles with points. You'll love the low maintenance of electronic pickups. They just work. As I recall, points were never a problem until a few years ago when it became impossible to find a quality set of points. I do recommend avoiding Pertronix though, as they do not honor their warranties when they fail. I've had no problem with Accel conversion kits, or using MSD electronic pickup distributors.
