I went up to do some work on my boat and found that while it was being moved from the storage facility to the shop the stereo and amplifier were stolen. They took the remote and the IPod adapter cord I added. It was a very clean job. The clam-shell cover was set to the side and the screws were placed in an orderly group on the floor. They left a ton of gear worth an additional grand or so. They were specific about what they were going after.

The gent who owns the storage and launch service is taking responsibility and is replacing all the stolen items. He had an outboard motor stolen off another boat at the same time.

I was able to get the stereo model number from SC. They didn't have any info on the amplifier.

Does anyone out there know what amp was part of the original GGE package?

Thanks,

Bill

My 2005 22 SSV GG came with a KDC-X679 head unit and two KAC-8401 4 channel Amps and the Sirus radio decoder and antenna. I am not exactly sure how the amps are configured, but they power 4 inboat Kenwood 160 Watt 6.5", 4 Kenwood 160 Watt 6.5" tower speakers, and one sub under the helm.

My.2004 22ssv by has a KAC X650D. I hope that will help. Also, can anyone tell me how to make my tower speakers louder than the others?

You can always wire the amp that runs the tower speakers to either the front or the rear channels on the head unit. Then run the rest of the in boat speakers to the other channel. You can then fade more sound towards the tower speakers and turn up the volume.

Consider it a poor man's WS-420.
