Whats the easiest way to tell which prop I have. Need to know if I have a left or right hand prop.

2004 launch direct drive if that helps.

2004 launch should be left hand. Everything S.C. has made since 99 has been left hand.....oops my bad unless it was custom ordered maybe. Not sure why ya would do this

Yeah, Its not stamped (thanks oj) but Im pretty sure the newer models are LH just by looking at the pointy part or the cutting part of the blade and then the wider pushing part.

Why did they go LH on newer models and RH on older??

95% of supras are left handed but RH are out there. Just look at the prop and spin w ur hand. Cant see the stamp unless you remove the prop.

It doesn't say on the prop itself. It is stamped 13x11.5 VC OJ on one side and JI 966 on the other.

I am thinking it has to be a left handed.

I will try to explain easy way to tell.
Look at aft edge of prop, it runs straight up, if the front edge, curved part goes to the left it is LH if it goes to the right it is RH. Just about all engines that Supra has ever installed is LH rotation engines, but some of the transmision outputs are RH ie; the pcm transmision. plus some Vdrive gear box with gear reductions can change to RH output. Correct craft was notorious for installing RH rotation engines, this was a custom build for engine manufactures, including cams, front and rear main seals, dist. gears ect. Any way Nautique is still mixing up using LH and RH output shafts. Al

Note in the photo, aft edge straight, leading edge curves to the left ie, LH rotation prop. Al

Thanks Al that is the best explanation I have ever seen. I will remember that.

OK, after staring at it we finally figured it out. I forget my boat has the Power Plus option which spins mine RH I think, thats why mine is odd?

Jet, you have a gear reduction transmission, which has a set of planterary gears in the output. This is what transfoms your LH rotation engine to a RH output. Al

Thats what I was trying to say! lol. The only negative to this is when you have driver/rider only and no passenger, the RH prop drives the right side of the boat down in and I have to offset that by moving some weoght over to the passenger side. If?? It was LH drive driving the left side of the boat down my driver weight may offset that. Just a thought. "Things that make you go hmm..." Thats ok though..im putting in 2-marine batts on the passenger side to offset my weight.
