Where can I get this stuff? I tried the group buy last year, and never heard back from the lady till 4 months later. I am going to need to get some of this stuff seeing how it did so well for everyone.

Anyone know where I can pick some up really soon? I'm gonna need a bottle's worth.

Also, the mr. clean magic erasers work really well! I used it for my sunsport! Looks great now, and I had a TON of red mud everywhere!

Hey ducks, I have heard that using the magic eraser strips the "good stuff" off your vinyl, so if you use it, make sure you are using a conditioner regularly or your vinyl will
get brittle and might yellow.

SSVGG is absolutely right Ducks. The Mr. Clean erasers actually are like sandpaper. Very fine sandpaper, but the principle is the same. You are roughing up and removing a protective coat of vinyl by using them. Not cleaning. It's like wetsanding the gelcoat. You aren't cleaning the gelcoat, you're stripping the top layer off to get to a cleaner more pure layer.

While it's not that extreme, the principle is true. Make sure you follow up with some 303 ANYTIME you use a Mr. Clean eraser. This will help seal and protect the freshly exposed vinyl you just created.

Do they work? Yes, and I normally keep them around for those real hard stains. But for regular cleaning I would avoid them.

Hopefully, if the stars align, I will be able to show how the exquisite works.

I've been using the Exquisite since I got my new interior. It seems to work well, although I probably haven't had any real "tough" stains in one season. I am pretty concious about cleaning off the sunscreen that comes off passengers (even though I try to get them to sit on towels), it will stain. I believe the product is ONLY available on eBay.

I guess I didn't know that either. I've never used the erasers on vinyl, but I do use it on the gelcoat to "erase" marks. So am I taking more than the wax off the gelcoat when I use the eraser?

vinyl has chemical layers that protect against uv, keep it soft, etc. magic erasers strip those protective layers off leaving the vinyl more exposed.

gel coat's alot harder so you're probably not doing much harm. on a highly polished dark colored boat, you might notice some scuffing as a result.

No they won't hurt gelcoat unless you are really pressing hard, but I wouldn't use them to clean with regularly. But with soft supple vinyl they can actully cut in. You can feel the difference in drag when you drag a sponge across the vinyl, and then a Mr. Clean eraser. Like I said, good for really tough stains for a quick fix out on the water. I keep a few in the boat in case something happens I have something that can get it off the top layer fast before it sets in. When I get home I make sure to 303 the area that I worked.

And lets say you buy a boat that has been sitting for years and looks rough as hell. You can use the Mr. Clean erasers for a one time restoration project. To really get down into the vinyl and get the grit out. Just make sure to spray it down really well with protectant (i use the 303) afterwards, and then use regular sponges and cloths from there on out.

I've never seen/used the erasers. Would they be a good choice to try at removing the very faint remnants of the silicone skin from underneath my old rubrail? I had razor bladed, sanded, and compounded the old off, but now that my new rubrail is on a little higher than original, in the right light I can see some of the old silicone that won't be hidden when I run a new bead. Thanks.

Probably not. They aren't durable at all. I used one on a pontoons seat that was nasty, and it barely survived just doin the backrest.

What about a green scrub sponge like for dishes? Not a brillo pad, yikes, but one of those stiff sponges.

Scotch-Brite is the term you're looking for haugy.

syber, haugy probably has a good idea. Have you tried any solvents yet? Maybe solvent and Scotch-Brite?

Thx, hadn't thought about scotchbrite pads. I'll give it a try & maybe sand again. Acetone & Xylol seem to have little effect. I hate 20+ year old silicone.

Back to the original post. I've only used Exquisite on my dash, but a couple of rounds with Exquisite followed by a few liberal coats of 303 really brought it back.

Same way I read the gauges. With my eyes closed, she runs and handles beautifully as I lean side to side while making motorboat sounds with my tongue :p

Hey guys, according to Sue (the lady that sells the Exquisite) - the product is a conditioner and cleaner in one - so she was telling me that adding a conditioner on top,
is probably not adding much other than cost.

There are some great before/after/during pictures in another thread
from a while back when I first started (and a few others) this product. I was actually
quite surprised, because I thought I kept the boat clean -- but ...

To remove old adhesive or silicone from the hull I use a little bit of "Goof-Off" on a rag, then wash and wax.

So you guys like this stuff better than Babes. I've used the babes and it cleans great but better is always, well better.

Yes - better than babes ... but I still put the Babes conditioner on from time to time ..
I use Babes green stuff after EVERY time I pull out of the water.

As for the "Wax" -- I use "Nautical Ease" -- which is not really a wax ...

How much cleaner can I expect to get from a 32 oz. bottle? I just realized I may need more........a lot more.

Headed to the lake but I'll look for it when I get back monday night. Thank you for the recommondation as I hate the wax I use. On a black boat everything I've tried hazes. The meguires works great on the yellow but sucks on the black. I think I like the 303 over the babes conditioner though. Maybe I'll try both. Are you going to the supra meet @ pueblo in june? Thanks gene

Collinite fleet wax is awesome.

I can vouch for exquisite. I bought the gallon concentrate a couple of years ago and I'm still using it.
