Removing Oxidation (few pics)

Okay, you guys got me going last week when I saw the resto's on the boats and how great they came out. I have been fighting the oxidation line on my boat at the water level for a year, and finally had enough.

I bought some Meguires Power Cut Compound, 3M Marine Wax, and a bunch of 600G, and 1000G wet sand paper and went to town over the weekend.

I started with the 600G and sanded till I removed the discoloration, rinsed her down, repeated with the 1000G, and rinsed. Then went to the popwer cut and used an electric buffer and wool pad and polsihed to get the brightness back. Finally, buffed with the 3M wax and hand wiped down. Let me say I cannot stop looking at it in the yard. The pics do no justice (phone only). This thing came out awesome.

I took the decals off last year and removed the adhesive and basically just buffed and waxed the white. Next year I may test wetsanding that as well and get rid of the ghost decal. All in all, looks good!!

Oh... I also saw some powder coated wheels on here so I took my old crappy tires off, bought new rubber from a buddy at a dealer (sweet deal $60 each), then had another friend strip all the crap chrome, sulphate dip, wash, and matte black powder coat (best thing.... FREE!!)

I believe this tower is a straight up Supra option in 01'.

Looks good man, I love that color scheme. I thought about pulling the trigger on your twin a couple of weeks ago. They are great boats.
