Hey Guys,

As I am amidst my rebuild, lots of sanding prep before it goes to paint, but I have removed my old, haggard looking "wakeplate" and I'm in need of a new cost effective solution.

Obviously and electric or hydraulic plate would be the best option, but the time and money factor is why I am looking at other options currently.

I have had the suggestion of running these "Smart Tabs" Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them, or thoughts on how it may effect the wake of my sunsport.

My first thought was "no way in hell" lol, but after reading a bit more it seems like they may be an option, specifcally this one:

With this adjustable strut, so I can have them deployed while just running around the lake, but take them off when some serious weight for surfing/boarding is going down.

Please give me your thoughts an opinions on this.

Also, I will be using a GPS speedo, so I have removed the Transducers on the back of the boat, and is likely where I will be mounting these.

Thanks

WSC

I have seen these on here before..but my 1st thought is they may work for just driving around or lighter boats (runabouts) but I dont think It will have the STIFFNES for surfing, Its not the same as a locked in position plate and there is no lock out just a charged gas shock. So with 1000-2000 lbs of surfing weight, its just going to push it back into the up position. my.02 cents
