Fuel Guage "bouncing"?

I have an older Saltare, and even when I have 3/4 of a full tank of fuel, the guage needle "bounces" so much the low fuel light goes on and off. Just a little thing that has been annoying me. Any help is appreciated!

I had the same problem with my Sunsport when it was new in 89. I replaced the sending unit with a electronic sender from Centroid products in Florida [904-423-3574] . I haven't had a problem since.
